Access to the self guided trails is included in this package.

Please note the following:

  • The picnic is designed for a minimum of two guests. Multiple orders are welcome if you have a bigger group.
  • One bottle of wine per two guests included in the price. Extra wine can be purchased on the day
  • We will arrange the picnic on a beautiful platter for you to enjoy from one of our tables, perfectly positioned on the deck to appreciate the wetlands views.
  • Please choose your wine when you arrive and if you are unsure, don't worry, let our staff guide you
  • If you are also booking a tasting beforehand and it's on a separate booking, please mention that in the comments section of the booking

Please Note: Every few years the wetlands is placed into a dry phase for approximately 6 months as part of a wetting and drying regime that compliments the natural wetting and drying cycles of the wetlands. This allows us to manage the ecosystem and support positive flora and fauna development, particularly among a range of endangered species. Ecological monitoring and the evaluation of environmental assets are regularly completed in order to retain our Ramsar accreditation.

The next phase of drying is due to commence in Dec 2023 through to Jun 2024. This is a wonderfully beautiful time to visit the site as although there is no water, the site displays a unique range of flora and fauna species that rejuvenate during these months, and is still well worth the walk down to the basin.

Any questions please contact us at the wine and wetlands centre.
